Seville · Las Setas
Almost everywhere you'd propose in Seville is old — Moorish palaces, baroque squares, whitewashed lanes. Las Setas de Sevilla is the exception: a vast undulating timber canopy in the middle of the city, the largest wooden structure in the world, with a walkway curling across its rooftop 26 metres up. For couples who want something modern, architectural and a little unexpected — and a 360-degree view of Seville at sunset — this is the one. I'm a Seville-based proposal photographer, and Las Setas gives you a proposal that looks like nowhere else in the city.
The rooftop is the reason to come. A walkway winds in a long figure-eight across the top of the parasols, 26 metres above the square, opening onto a viewing terrace — El Mirador — with an unbroken 360-degree panorama of the city. The sculptural timber curves make a backdrop you simply can't get anywhere else in Seville, and the whole structure is lit beautifully after dark. It photographs as well pointing at the architecture as it does pointing at the skyline.
Unlike an open square, the rooftop is a ticketed attraction, so it needs a little planning. It's generally open from morning until late — roughly until 11pm — and a standard rooftop ticket has been in the region of €15, with a slightly higher "sunset" ticket for the best slot of the day. Treat those figures as a guide, not a quote — attraction prices and hours change, so I confirm the current details as part of planning your shoot. The key point is simply that you book ahead rather than turning up on spec, and that a sunset slot is worth the small premium.
Sunset into blue hour is unbeatable here. You get the warm light on the timber and the skyline first, then, as the sky deepens, the structure's own lighting comes up and the whole thing glows. That short window just after the sun goes down — when there's still colour in the sky but the parasol is lit — is the most beautiful of all. See when to propose in Seville for sunset times through the year so we time your slot right.
A rooftop takes a little more choreography than an open square, but it's very doable. We plan the timed entry together, and "let's go up and watch the sunset from Las Setas" is a completely natural suggestion that gives nothing away. I'm up there ahead of you, blending in with the other visitors on the walkway, and I capture the moment as you reach the mirador. Afterwards we make the most of the light for a couples session against those extraordinary curves. Read how hiring works, or see the other best places to propose in Seville if you're still deciding.
Good to know
It's a huge undulating wooden canopy in central Seville — the largest wooden structure in the world, nicknamed 'the mushrooms' — with a rooftop walkway and viewing terrace 26 metres up offering a 360-degree panorama of the city. It's the one strikingly modern spot among Seville's historic backdrops.
Yes — the rooftop walkway is a ticketed attraction, so you book ahead rather than turning up. A standard rooftop ticket has been around €15 with a slightly higher sunset ticket; treat that as a guide, as prices change, and I confirm current details when planning your shoot.

Yes. We plan the timed entry together, 'let's watch the sunset from Las Setas' is a natural suggestion, and I'm already on the walkway blending in with other visitors when you reach the mirador.
It's modern rather than historic — sculptural wooden curves and panoramic city views instead of Moorish palaces or baroque squares. It suits couples who want something contemporary and unexpected.
We use the remaining light for a relaxed couples session against the timber curves and the skyline, so you leave with a full gallery of the evening, not just the proposal itself.
